A Tribute to Leadership and Dedication of Chief Nurse Executives
Robyn and Patrick Flinn care about the work that nurses do on the front lines of patient care.
Known as true ambassadors for Northwestern Medicine’s patient-centered mission, Robyn and Patrick Flinn made a generous gift to establish the Flinn Family Nursing Education Endowed Fund at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital and Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital. Their goal is to encourage nurses’ professional development, while supporting nursing education at both hospitals. The Flinn Family Nursing Education Endowed Fund also establishes the Flinn Family Chief Nurse Executive positions and shines light on the extraordinary gifts and dedication of nursing leadership and their nursing colleagues.
At an investiture on June 15, 2018, at the St. Charles Country Club, Debra A. O’Donnell, MS, RN, NEA-BC, senior vice president and Flinn Family Chief Nurse Executive at Central DuPage Hospital, and Corinne A. Haviley, PhD, MS, RN, vice president and Flinn Family Chief Nurse Executive at Delnor Hospital, formally assumed their new titles and expressed their deepest appreciation to the Flinns for naming and endowing these leadership positions.
“Northwestern Medicine means so much to us,” said Mrs. Flinn. “Nurses, specifically — on the front lines of patient care touching and inspiring their patients and colleagues with everything they do — have a special place in our hearts and lives.”
