Paying It Forward
When Charles Kline learned he needed a fourth joint replacement surgery, he had a thoughtful decision to make.
“My wife Kathleen and I have an active lifestyle,” said Charles, who golfs, skis, roller skates and keeps up with seven grandchildren. Remarking that it was extremely important to him to choose a hospital he could trust to get him back on his feet and back to his daily activities, Charles continued, “Before making a decision, I did thorough research on hospital infection and recovery rates for joint replacement. Before committing to surgery at Kishwaukee Hospital, I knew it had outstanding scores.”
Charles and Kathleen are just as contemplative about philanthropy. Following Charles’s surgery, the Klines made their first gift to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in honor of outstanding hospital service. “The nursing staff carefully coordinated my care while I was in the hospital, and I was very impressed with the safety of the facility and the infection control measures that were evident in their practices,” said Charles. “When a community service lives up to its promises, we like to give back. We trust our funds will be used well by Kishwaukee Hospital for additional improvements to serve others.”
The Klines and other donors lend generous support to programs and services at Kishwaukee Hospital, making it possible for us to provide the best care close to home. We thank the Klines and all of our donors for their trust and generosity.
