An ophthalmologist diagnoses and treats all eye ailments, performs eye surgeries and prescribes and fits glasses and contact lenses to correct vision problems. Some ophthalmologists have expertise in a subspecialty of ophthalmology, such as glaucoma, cataracts and refractive surgery, cornea and external disease, and more. When you donate to Northwestern Memorial Foundation, you will help the dedicated ophthalmologists at Northwestern Medicine to continue to provide the highest level of care to their patients.
Northwestern Medicine’s ophthalmologists are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of eye problems. They provide expert care to people affected by cataracts, corneal disease, double vision and neuro-ophthalmologic disease, diabetic retinopathy, eyelid and orbital conditions, glaucoma and macular degeneration, as well as additional problems.
