Internal Medicine, or General Medicine, refers to the medical specialty that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions and diseases in adults. Northwestern Medicine’s board-certified internists offer a range of services for individuals age 16 and older. By making a donation to Northwestern Memorial Foundation in support of internal medicine research and care, you will help physicians and scientists at Northwestern Medicine to further advance their understanding and treatment of an array of medical conditions.
Among the many services provided by Northwestern Medicine’s internists are physical exams, flu shots and treatment for mild illnesses such as the common cold. Our internists also address a variety of other conditions and symptoms, including:
- The health needs of older adults
- Women’s health-related conditions
- Thyroid conditions
- High cholesterol
- Back pain
- Sexually transmitted diseases
With your support, Northwestern Medicine’s internists will continue to provide expert care to people affected by these conditions, as well as many other conditions.
